Buthidaung, Burma : Chicken pox has broken out in Buthidaung Township , Arakan State , since the second week of March 2008, according to our staff correspondent.
 
Four children afflicted with chicken pox died. The dead children included Nur Nahar (3), daughter of Kala Meah, Sayada Khatun (3), daughter of Fayas, Deen Mohammed (2), son of Kamal and Perbin (3), daughter of Nuru. They all belong to Krin Thamar village tract (Hansar Para) of Buthidaung Township .
 
The children died between March 8 and 11.
 
According to sources, some children have been suffering from chicken pox in the area since the second week of March. But, government and non-government NGOs have not paid heed.
