Nasaka (Burma border guard force) officers tried to rape a young Rohingya woman after breaking into a home that they looted in Khonza at about 12:30 am on July 7.

Villagers rushed to the spot after Fatema, 18, screamed for help. The officers had already broke down the door of the home that she was housesitting for her friend Azida.

“Azida was visiting her relative in Maungdaw with permission from state authorities when Nasaka personnel looted her home,” said one relative.

When Azida returned she complained about the break in and the theft of gold earrings valued at 7000 Kyat to a Nasaka officer from area 7. She was told that an investigation would be opened nothing has been done yet.
