Nasaka detains religious leader in Maungdaw
A Rohingya religious leader was arrested and detained by Nasaka (border guard force) in Maungdaw Township. According to a local he was picked up for allegations of being involved in last June sectarian violence.
The religious leader has been identified as Noor Hasan, 35, son of Noor Mohammed from Udaung village. According to reliable sources, Nasaka were looking for him but he managed to evade arrest. When they started conducting surveys of the residents living Noor Hasan’s village he tried bribing officers but they still arrested him.
