Bangladeshi border guards arrest many Rohingyas
Over a hundred Rohingyas have been arrested by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) since the beginning of January, according to a Teknaf trader.
On Jan. 11, at about 8 am, 12 Rohingyas travelling in vehicles to Cox’s Bazar from Teknaf were arrested at the Whykong BGB check-post. They were deported back to Burma the same day.
BGB arrested 27 Rohingyas around Shapuri Dip and Dum Dum Meah in a raid that was conducted on Jan.10.
Over 30 Rohingyas were arrested at the Sapran Union entry point while entering Bangladesh from Arakan state, on Jan.9.
On Jan.4, the BGB arrested over 27 Rohingya at Gumdum border point.
