Thousands of Bangladeshi Rakhines have been recently resettled to Natala villages in Maungdaw south, Burma, according to a village administration officer.
The officer said, about 3000 Rakhines, living in Bangladesh, have been resettled by Maungdaw officials along the Maungdaw- Alaythankyaw road since the end of December.
But one Maungdaw south school teacher claims the Rakhine, who are poor and struggling to survive in Bangladesh settlements, are taking advantage of the sectarian violence that displaced thousands of Muslims and Rakhines in June 2012. The school teacher further alleges in Burma they will get full support from the UN and other aid groups.
