Nasaka arrest and torture Muslim man
A Muslim man was nabbed by the notorious Nasaka (Burma’s border security force) over allegations he was running a human trafficking ring in Maungdaw south, according to one businessman who didn’t want his name used.
The accused, who was arrested in his village on Dec.29, is being detained in the Nasaka camp. According to sources within the community, when he was unable to pay the 500,000 Kyat (US $583) bribe they tortured him.
Allegations of this kind against the Muslim population by the corrupt Nasaka are rife in Arakan state. Usually they victim will be released unharmed if they can afford to pay a large bribe.
