Maungdaw, Arakan State: The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) recently organized an education workshop for primary school teachers, according to a teacher who attended the workshop.

“The workshop was held from May 23–31, and most of the teachers were from rural areas. There were 540 teachers who attended the workshop.”

“UNICEF took full responsibility for the workshops, and the UNICEF staff gave guidelines for how to teach children.”

“UNICEF is giving guidance and methods for teaching and how to control the children in the classroom.”

The workshop was held at Maungdaw High School. All the teachers stayed at the school, and food was also supplied at the school, according to an officer from the workshop.

“Each teacher received 6,000 kyats per day as a daily allowance.”

“We are now able to know how to teach the children in the classroom and control the students. We are very happy for the opportunity to attend the workshop,” said a teacher who attended the workshop.
