Teknaf, Bangladesh: The dead body of a Rakhine youth was found near the Teknaf land port but nobody has been able to identify the body, according to local from Teknaf.

“Nobody know who killed him, how, or why.”

In the morning, laborers at the land port saw the dead body near the  side of the Teknaf-Cox’s Bazaar Highway. They informed the Teknaf Police Station, said a port laborer.

“The dead body was shown to some Rakhine who had come with smuggled goods to the land port, but one boatman recognized him as U Thein Maung from Taungup and a boat owner.” 

Later, police went to the spot and recovered the dead body.

The dead body was taken to the Teknaf Police Station at around 2 p.m. and sent to Cox’s Bazaar for an autopsy, the official said.

Locals believe that the Rakhine youth came to Bangladesh from Burma to look for work.
