A man, who was the father of one child, died in a fire today at the state-owned Burmese Oil Corporation (BOC) office in Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State, local eyewitnesses said.
The fire at the BOC office started around 3 p.m. local time and burned for 30 minutes before it was brought under control by two fire trucks, according to witnesses.
Local military authorities said the fire was caused by the hot weather, residents said.
