New Mon State Party (NMSP) Chairperson Nai Htaw Mon urged all from the Mon ethnicity to be proud of their culture but to “stay away from the perspective that historically one’s nationality is the greatest, while belittling other nationalities” during a moving speech at the opening ceremony of Mon National Conference (MNC).

Nai Htaw Mon, who served as the MNC chairman for the first day, urged his people to not only embrace Mon literature and culture, but also understand their political needs.

“Mon nationals need to understand the rights of politics. We also need to avoid the impacts on our national business benefits,” said the NMSP chairperson.
