Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave a public speech on a football pitch in Kywe Chan Gone Village, Moulmein Township, Mon State, at the morning of March 11 with over 100,000 in attendance, according to eyewitnesses.
“Daw Suu started her speech at about 9.30 am and it lasted nearly 40 minutes. The public was supportive and respectful,” said Ko Tint Lwin, who was in attendance.
“Some cars provided free transportation. I’m proud for Mon State as (the public speech) was went smoothly,” he continued.
The speech was intended to be held in the Than Lwin Garden, of Bo Gone Ward, Moulmein. However, the event had to be moved to the football pitch because the municipal authorities did not give permission to use the garden.
According to Ko Tint Lwin, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi speeched that the domestic peace is a must one to try as the civil wars occurred at the places not far away from Moulmein, the capital of Mon State, even the capital is peaceful.
After her public speech, Daw Aung San SuuKyi went to Kyaikmayaw Pray-fulfilled Pagoda constructed by Mon Queen Mi Jao Bu to pay her worship.
Moreover, at the evening of March 10, Daw Augn San SuuKyi cerebrated a dinner with the leaders of the Mon National Democratic Front (MNDF) and the officials of the ceasefire New Mon State Party (NMSP) at the Stand Hotel, according to Nai Soe Myint (MNDF) who attended the dinner in person.
It was reportedly said that the public speech of Daw Aung San SuuKyi in Moulmein became the cerebration which has the largest attendance.
