Kyaukpru, Arakan State: The Township Referendum Commissioner, Union Solidarity and Development Association members, or USDA the Village Peace and Development Council (VPDC), the Fire Bridge’s members and members of women's affairs and members of Township Peace and Development Council (TPDC) held a rally on April 21, campaigning among people to cast the "Yes" vote in the coming May referendum, said a member of TPDC from Kyaukpru.

The campaign groups also distributed papers of pro-Military and anti-NLD and outsiders to the people and asked people to support the referendum and the campaigners also alleged that if supporting of National League for Democracy (NLD), it will destroy the country, said a local from Kyaukpru.

The Kyaukpru TPDC officials called all village tract members to attend a meeting where they discussed the May referendum and how to persuade the people to cast the "Yes" vote. At the meeting the concerned authority told to VPDC members to set up only one polling booth per village tract, said a schoolteacher from Kyaukpru

The village tracts were: - Ngalaphwet, Gonchun, Ohntwe, Kyainngti, Minpin, Zaunnchang, Theitkoon, Gawtu, Karaba, Laikawmaw, Thewchang and Gagon.

The pro-military campaign groups were going around the town to encourage people to cast the "Yes" vote for upcoming constitutional referendum for restoring democracy in the country. The campaign groups also urged the people not to support outsiders and the NLD's program for the May referendum.

More than 100 people formed a pro-military campaign groups in Kyaukpru and the rally was came to an end at around 4:30 p.m.
