Regime Suffers Significant Losses in Clashes with CNO/CNDF

A Chin armed group opposing the military regime claims to have killed up to 1,000 of its soldiers in 170 clashes over the past three years.

Salai Cung Ngai, spokesperson for the Chin National Organisation/Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF), stated that only 48 of its soldiers have died in battles with regime forces, with 42 sustaining serious injuries during the conflict. He mentioned that the group has captured nine of the regime's camps since its formation.

“We send our comrades who have lost their eyes in battle to a school for the blind and provide prosthetic limbs for those who have lost theirs,” he said.

However, these initiatives come at considerable cost, and the CNO/CNDF has primarily sought financial assistance from the Chin diaspora to aid the injured soldiers in rebuilding their lives.

Those disabled but willing to continue resisting the dictatorship within the organization can assume office positions, Salai Cung Ngai explained.

In pursuit of a federal democratic system, the CNO/CNDF has initiated a People's Administration to establish laws and regulations covering judicial, administrative, educational, healthcare, and social relief matters. They also claim to be fostering unity among the various Chin ethnicities in the state.

The CNO/CNDF is closely collaborating with the Committee Representing Parliament and Hluttaw, National Unity Consultative Council, National Unity Government, Interim Chin National Consultative Council, Ethnic Revolutionary Organizations, and other resistance groups to establish a federal union following the regime's downfall.

In a recent statement, the armed group pledged to continue fighting tyranny alongside other organisations for the interests of the Chin people and the establishment of a federal union.
