China's push for peace talks between Junta- controlled NSPC (the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee)  and the Three Brotherhood Alliance, resulted in very little dialogue and no agreement, the Shan Herald has learned. The forum held in Mongla close to the Myanmar-China border was scheduled from June 1- 3rd but the awkward talks only last just over one day.

These China- facilitated talks between the NSPNC and the Three Brotherhood Alliance, which were scheduled to  take place from June 1st-3rd. However the desultory discussions petered out and only until the second, then breaking up without any agreement.

According to AA- The  Arakan Army's spokesperson U Khaing Thu Kha, the Military Council did bring up political issues during the meeting, but the Three Brotherhood Alliance did not engage in discussions, or provide any response on those matters.

The Junta- controlled NSPNC  convened and engaged in discussions with the Three Brotherhood Alliance, consisting of the Arakan Army (AA), Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), In Mongla, a town under the control of NDAA.

Political analyst U Ye Tun (Thibaw) shared his viewpoint regarding the early conclusion of the talks before the designated time frame, stating, "It appears that the Three Brotherhood Alliance had little desire to engage in discussions with the Military Council. It seems they only attended the meeting due to pressure from China."

Guo Bao, the Special Foreign Envoy from China's Yunnan Province, was present during the meeting between the NSPNC and the Three Brotherhood Alliance, but those present report he did not get involved in the discussions.

"I personally was not present in the conference halls throughout the entirety of the proceedings. We made meticulous arrangements for meals, and prioritized the security of our esteemed guests.”, U Kyi Myint, secretary of Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA-Mongla), told Shan Herald.

U Kyi Myint clarified that NDAA-Mongla had sole responsibility for organizing and managing the accommodation and food arrangements during the talks.

However during the talks, some clashes occurred between the Military Council and MNDAA, which is a constituent member of the Three Brotherhood Alliance.
