Military Council Imposes Curfew on a Ward in Paletwa Township

The Military Council has imposed a curfew in a ward located in Paletwa Township, which is situated in Chin State. A resident of Paletwa has stated that the curfew has been imposed on Palote Taung ward, located in Paletwa Township. The reason behind the curfew is currently unknown.

"The curfew was imposed solely on that particular ward without any specific reason or problem. That is why people are worried about being arrested without any reason," he said. Since April 29, a curfew has been in effect in the Palote Taung ward from 7pm to 5am.

After the curfew was imposed, Military Council soldiers and police officers stationed on the Standing Buddha Mountain in Palote Taung ward were also monitoring the boats along the Kaladan River.

During the last period of fighting in Paletwa Township, Section 144 of the curfew was implemented, but it was lifted temporarily when the fighting subsided.

At present, the curfew has been imposed solely in the Palote Taung ward of Paletwa Township, leading to criticism from local residents, according to reports.
