Arakan Army claims 10 Military Council soldiers killed in Rakhine and Chin States on November 8th

The Arakan Army (AA) issued a statement that battles broke out in 5 places in Rakhine and Chin States with the Military Council in a single day on November 8.

In the statement released on November 9, AA said that the battles occurred in Minbya, Maungdaw and Paletwa towns once each, and twice in the city of Ann.

AA said it intercepted and attacked a Military Council ferry vessel carrying troops under 55th Military Division with weapons and ammunition, which enjoyed helicopter support.

The fighting started 1.6 kilometers northwest of Khaung Laung Chaung Village in Minbya Township at around 9:00 AM on November 8.The ferry was not badly damaged in the shootout, but some Military Council troops suffered casualties, according to the AA statement.

There was also a 45-minute gunfight at around 12:39 PM on November 8 when the Military Council troops invaded the area 3.1 kilometers southwest of Kazuthine Village in Ann, where the AA forces were deployed.

Another clash also took place on the same day at around 2:30 PM, 1 km northeast of Wetkyein Village in Maungdaw Township because the 77th Division of the Military Council and the Border Guard Forces jointly attacked the AA’s positions.

In another incident at 4:35 PM on November 8, about 600 meters southeast of Hinkhat Village in Ann Township, a fighting broke out between the Military Council's 308/354 Infantry Regiment and AA troops.

In Chin State a battle raged for about half an hour in Pakawa Village of Paletwa at 2:03 PM on November 8. Military Council troops launched air strikes from Yochaung strategic outpost located about 800 meters north of Kyokyarpyin Village in Myebon Township, and from Swichaung strategic outpost located 500 meters northwest of Swichaung Village in Ann Township, AA stated.

About 10 Military Council troops were killed and some others were wounded in the 5 armed clashes that took place in one day, and some weapons and military equipment belonging to the enemy were seized, AA announced.
