Bomb blasts injure Myanmar police in Hinthada Township

Two bomb blasts were reported in Hinthada township, Ayeyarwaddy Region at 4:15 pm on 13 October, according to local people.

The explosions happened at the roundabout near the Bogyoke statue in Hinthada Township and the No. 2 Hinthada Township Police Station at the same time.

"At the roundabout near to the Bogyoke statue, two traffic police officers were hit. One of them is in a bad situation. A second explosion happened next to the police station, but no one was hurt,” a local resident said.

A source close to Hinthada Township PDF said: “No civilians were hurt in the incident, and Hinthada Township PDF members (involved in the actions) have now made it to a safe location.”

The incident was jointly conducted by the Hinthada Township PDF and Hinthada Local People's Defense Force (HLPDF) as part of operation Nan Htike Aung.

According to Hinthada residents, after the bomb blast, Military Council troops arrived and took the two injured people to Hinthada Hospital.
