Kyel Ni Hla Myint Foundation in the City of Sittwe in Rakhine State is accepting applications for scholarships for the first time to help the students who are poor and facing difficulties to attend a vocational university.
Poor students who want to attend vocational universities such as University of Education/ College of Education, University of Agriculture and University of Medicine can apply for the scholarship from September 27, U Aung Kyi Moe, the secretary of the Foundation told Narinjara.
“A scholarship is a means of supporting those who are not able to go on to university despite being bright and intelligent. We have not yet decided how much money to support. But even if it's not enough for the students, a relatively suitable amount of money will be provided”, U Aung Kyi Moe said.
Only one student for each of the universities will be selected, hence a total of 3 will be given a one-year stipend.
U Aung Kyi Moe said the purpose of such support is to raise the talented and educated in Rakhine State, to help those people to benefit Rakhine State.
“Since this is the first year for the scholarship program, the main thing is to gain experience. The scholarship will be provided for one year. Depending on the funding situation, we are planning to support more students in the next year than now”, he also said.
Those who want to apply shall contact the Kyel Ni Hla Myint Foundation in Sat Yoe Kya New Industrial District. Applications will also be accepted via Kyel Ni Hla Myint Foundation Facebook page.
