9 November 2010: One of the Chin ethnic political parties, the Ethnic National Development Party (ENDP), has got a number of Parliament seats from Matupi constituency, southern Chin state in the 2010 general election in Burma.
The wining candidates in Matupi constituencies are U Amih – National Parliament, Dr. Rouk – People’s Parliament, U Onh Lwin – State Parliament and U Vancin for National Parliament.
In Matupi constituency, the USDP, CPP, NUP, NDF and ENDP contested the 2010 general election. USDP is still maintaining a winning streak in these areas because of the controversial advance voting system, a report said.
“Government employees not only cast their votes for the USDP but also voted for others, who could not participate in the advance voting,” said a local.
USDP, as such is leading in Tawnzang township and Paletwa township in northern Chin state.
