The National League for Democracy (NLD) party and the Chin League for Democracy (CLD) party have won in the November 3rd by-election respectively in Chin State.
There were two constituencies, Matupi and Kanpetlet, in Chin State’s by-election. U Nyunt Win, the NLD candidate for People’s Parliament, has been elected in the Kanpetlet Constituency on 3rd November By-election.
The candidates from the National League for Democracy (NLD) party, the Chin National Democratic Party (CNDP), the Chin Progressive Party (CPP) and the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) run in the November 3rd By-election for the Kanpetlet Constituency.
The NLD representative U Nuynt Win obtained 3,083 valid votes, the USDP representative U Mananaing got 2,527 valid votes, the CNDP representative U Ki Htan Lunn got 2,445 and the CPP representative U Ki Htan Shin got 242 votes respectively.
In the Matupi Constituency, the National League for Democracy (NLD) party and the Chin League for Democracy (CLD) party contested for a parliamentary seat and the CLD representative U Aung Lian won in the by-election.
“I would like to express my special gratitude toward the voters of Matupi constituency who cast their votes for me. My first performance is meeting with the public. I will supervise the projects carrying out in the villages or in town at my best. I will also take care of the municipal works as much as I can,” U Aung Lian told Khonumthung News.
U Aung Lian obtained 5,964 valid votes while the NLD representative U Aung Htan got 5,026 votes respectively.
