Teknaf, Bangladesh: Police arrested a peddler with 1000 Yaba tablets yet again from the exit and entry point of Teknaf on August 9 while he was entering Bangladesh, sources said.

After arrest, the peddler was brought to Teknaf police station for further interrogation. He, Kamal Husson, 25, is from Kari Para (Block two) of Maungdaw Township.

The arrested youth brought the Yaba tablets hidden on his person in a balloon, said a government source.

The Office-in-charge (OC) Khaled Hossain from Teknaf police station confirmed this.

The police personnel cannot arrest the main people involved in Yaba tablet smuggling. So, they are arresting the small fry, sources added.

Over 5,000 Yaba tablets were seized by Bangladesh authorities in 12 days on the Bangladesh-Burma border, sources said.

On the other hand, the peddler is closed connection with Zaw Naing, the gate in charge of three miles from the Burma border security force (Nasaka). Zaw Naing is working with Kamal in drug trafficking where Zaw Naing delivery Yaba tablets to Kamal to carry to Bangladesh, according to a drug watch group from Maungdaw.
