Burmese Army authorities will auction six public buildings and plots of land in four cities of Arakan State, said an official source.
The buildings and land are in Sittwe, Kyauk Pru, Thandwe, and Gwa, and the auction will be held in Naypyidaw, Burma’s new capital. The auction closes on 26 February 2010.
In Sittwe, the capital of Arakan State, the buildings and land to be auctioned are the downtown Myoma Cinema Hall and its adjacent 0.15 acre plot, and three warehouses on 0.69 acres on the banks of Satrokya Creek.
The authorities will sell an ice factory and 5.85 acres of land in Gwa, in southern Arakan.
Another ice factory that comes with a jetty and 21.7 acres of land in Thabru Shyin in Thandwe will also be sold at the auction, as will some silos and plots in Thandwe and Kyauk Pru.
In the past, many nationalized buildings and plots of land in Arakan were sold by authorities in Naypyidaw at auctions and were purchased by Burman businessmen with the support of senior army officials.
