Dhaka, Bangladesh: A six-member delegation, led by the Deputy Chief of the Burma Border Guard Police (BGP) Brig Gen Thein Oo, will arrive in Dhaka on 16th December to attend a conference, according to a press release.
It said: “A six-day conference between the director general of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Deputy Chief of BGP in Myanmar will begin at BGB Headquarters in the city tomorrow." [16th December]
It said that the BGB would send a 16-member delegation, led by the Additional Director General of the BGB, Md Latiful Haider.
In the meeting, the Bangladesh side will focus on how to stop drug smuggling and people illegally crossing the border.
Various issues including: drug smuggling, illegal border crossings, regular director general-level meetings, the firing of weapons in border areas, friendly football matches and an exchange of training programmers will be discussed at the conference, according to BGB officials.
