He said: “We now have to negotiate with them [Tala Mon], as to whether they can complete the projects as stated in the proposal. [The proposal] only stated the cost, it did not include a timetable for the construction."

According to the Minister, on 15th October the Mon State Civil Development Committee put the construction of a railway museum and park out to tender  and on the 10th November they received the Tala Mon Co. Ltd tender.

Min Banyar San, Chairman of Tala Mon said: “The government will share in the cost of buying the land and we will pay some of the expenses.  This means that ownership will be split between the government and Tala Mon."

Dr. Toe Toe Aung said: “It [the project] is divided into two parts. One part will include a railway and museum facility. Next to that, a high standard hotel and shops will be constructed. The site will be divided into two areas; one for the museum facility and one for the shopping centre. The main priority is the museum, the other parts of the project are secondary to that."

Of the 6.61 acres allotted for construction of the railway museum and park area, 2.5 acres will be for the railway museum, 1.66 acres will be for the shopping area, including stalls and shops, restaurants, and a bus station, while the remaining 2.45 acres will be used for the hotel, swimming pool, and reception hall.
