“The Hilton will assist in the operational management of the hotel and bring the benefits of a worldwide sales and marketing network to this partnership,” said U Chit Khine.

Mr William Costley, the hotel group’s vice-president of operations in South East Asia said “The reason for Hilton coming to Nay Pyi Taw is all about opportunity.”

Three other international hotel chains already operate in Nay Pyi Taw; Swiss-based Kempinski, France’s Accor group and Singaporean Pan Pacific.

Hilton plan to extend their operations in Myanmar, opening a Ngapali Beach resort soon, Bagan and Inle Lake hotels in 2016, with a Mandalay foothold coming in 2017, said U Chit Khine.
