USDP readies for door-to-door campaign

A Yangon township faction of the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party is about campaign door-to-door for their party ahead of the national elections at the end of 2015.

USDP (Tamwe) are about to start their campaign, according to a local newspaper report October 12.

U Nay Myo Aung, USDP MP for Seik Khan Township, Yangon Region said the party was ready for its door-to-door campaign.

According to the party’s strategy, they have been trained in offering advice to people in how they can vote and how party members should campaign. All regions of the country on a State, district and township level have been training every weekend.

U Nay Myo Aung said that according to the training, party representatives will go door-to-door, visiting households and carrying out a survey.

People will be categorized by colour, with green as supporters of the USDP, yellow for people who are unsure, and red for people who strongly support opposition parties, including the National League for Democracy.
