KNPP should explain Karenni People about Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement

Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) should correspondingly explained Karenni people on its policies and frameworks planned to discuss designed for the nationwide ceasefire agreement, said Dr. Khin Si Thu, chairwoman of Karenni State National League for Democracy (NLD).

“I want KNPP of Karenni State to explain people whatever policy or frame work they are going to do. They battled here and they made ceasefire also here.  As a result, they should have their own frame work to explain the people,” she said.

Ko Dee De, a central committee member of Union of Karenni State Youth (UKSY), said, “We can understand  no explanation about military affair, but policy of ceasefire process should be explained to people, such as what particulars will be included in dialogue.”

KNPP needs more supports of the Karenni people in order to sign nationwide ceasefire agreement. Consequently, current policies and frame works should be explained to the respective people, Ko Moe, a residence from Loi Kaw, said on September 14.

“It needs people’s power to a great extent. They should explain people about their future preparations and policies. It’s necessary that they need to accept their weaknesses if came out in the comprehensive meeting,” he said.

On 4 September, a preliminary township level public meeting was held in which citizens, political parties and community based organizations included. It was held at Mot-du-dee-boe-hoe hall, Tay-tha-ma block, Chit-Kel village tract, Loi Kaw township.

Additionally, there were also grassroots meetings that inhabitants can put forward and discuss concerning their related issues, in De-maw-so and Phru-so townships.
