Sittwe to host Arakan National Party’s important meeting

Representatives from Rakhine National Development Party (RNDP) and Arakan League for Democracy (ALD) are expected to meet in Sittwe on March 23 to finalize the future plan of Arakan National Party  (ANP).

The ANP’s executive committee member U Hla Myint informed Narinjara that altogether 30 representatives from both the Arakan based parties would attend the two day meeting.

“There will be 15 participants from each party and they all will form Chief Executive Committee (CEC) of ANP. We will discuss primarily the future course of actions for our new political entity,” said U Hla Myint adding, “Especially we will discuss about the party rules and regulations (constitution) of ANP.”

The discussion will also highlight about the power of attorney rest on the chairman, vice- chairman and secretary of the party. More the selection (or election) of important portfolios will be debated and resolved.

Once the CEC meeting is over on March 23 & 24, the party leaders will concentrate on Central Committee (CC) meetings involving 90 CC members across the western Burma State.

Talking about ANP’s approach to Arakan and its people, U Hla Myint elaborated that the new found party will work for all Rakhine nationalities. It will try its best to fulfill the will & desires of Arakanese people keeping faith on the Rakhine history and with a nationalistic outlook.
