Maungdaw: An unidentified body of a woman with injuries was found on July 16 in a gunny sack by Nasaka authorities near a Nasaka camp in Maungdaw Township, said a villager from Maungni Village.
"We do not know who she was, but we determined that she was a Muslim woman aged about 20 years," the villager said.
Local residents first noticed the gunny sack lying about 12 feet from the edge of the Nasaka camp in Maungni Village, and a villager informed the authorities.
Nasaka officers found the woman's body inside the gunny sack.
"I heard that there were two injuries on her abdomen caused by a knife, but it is impossible to know so soon who stabbed her and for what reason," the villager said.
The villagers of Maungni buried the woman in the Maungni graveyard the day after the Nasaka authorities ordered them to do so, but the authorities did not send her body to the morgue at the Maungdaw hospital for an autopsy, the man said.
