U Myo Win, Vice Chairman of the All Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF), said that a report on the massacre of ABSDF students will be released in December this year. The killings happened in Parjau region, Northern Myanmar in 1992.

He made the announcement at a press conference held by the 88 students at the Open Society Institute, Yangon on August 9. Around 107 students who left Myanmar to join the ABSDF were accused of spying for the government in 1992 and 40 of them were executed.

"The report will be based on the findings of the group working to reveal truth and promote justice. There were around hundred students who were involved in the Parjau case. Only 30 of them have been found. The remaining 70 are yet to be accounted for. We will ensured justice is delivered after the report from the Commission” said Myo Win.    

A member of the ABSDF said that after the report is released, family member of the victims can take legal actions as per the law.

“We will apologize to the family members of the victims. They can also take legal actions if they choose to."

The  ABSDF students, who returned from the northern area for peace talks with the government in 2012, urged for punishment of the perpetrators of the Parjau camp massacre in ABSDF (Northern area).
