Vietnam signs over Yadana interest to French oil firm
PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corp (PVEP) has signed an agreement with French oil and gas company Maurel & Prom whereby PVEP will transfer part of its interest in the M2 Mottana Block offshore block in Myanmar to the French firm, according to industry magazine Natural Gas Asia.
The block is located in the western part of the Gulf of Martaban and covers an area of 9,652 square km. It is just north of Block M5 where the 5TCF Yadana gas field was discovered.
“The two companies wish to jointly develop E&P ventures in Myanmar and other parts of the world,” the report said.
