President Thein Sein met with President Xi Jingping in the Sanya, a Chinese resort, on Friday to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.
"The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views and reached broad consensus on relations between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of common interest," said a joint press communique after their talks, according to Xinhua.
The presidents agreed to enhance mutual trust and boost "all round" co-operation. Xi Jingping also promised to visit Myanmar a mutually convenient time in the near future, said the report.
Thein Sein is currently on a three-day visit to China where he will attend the Boao Forum on Asia in Hainan Province, a summit which focusses on regional development.
It is the president's third trip to China since he assumed the presidency in March 2011.
