Singers from Mizoram state in northeast India will be performing during the celebrations of the 25th Chin Association of Christian Communication (CACC) in Chin state capital Hakha in Burma.
The singers and a Baptist Choir group, also from Mizoram, will perform in the silver jubilee of the CACC that runs from April 5 - 7, according to Pu Hmingtea, a Church leader of the Mizoram Baptist Association.
“We will leave for Chin state on April 1 by bus,” said Pu Hmingtea.
The Mizoram Baptist Association already submitted an application to the Chin state government to cross the border to Hakha by bus. The CACC have agreed to help sort out the travel documents if there are any problems, according to Pu Hmingtea.
“I am happy to hear that singers from Mizoram will come. Many local people are also excited about it,” said one Hakha local.
The Mizoram singers who will be performing include: Mafaki, Pensy, Bethsy and Lalrinsangi.
The CACC is a faith based organization that formed 1988 in Chin state. It’s also an umbrella organization for the various Chin Baptist associations.
