Four different Chin youth groups have joined forces to form the Chin Youth Organization (CYO).
CYO President Salai Van Chan Ceu said they “will cooperate with different youth and social groups of the state” to tackle a variety of social issues like drug abuse and the protection of their local environment. But they also plan to have fun organizing activities that will serve to promote literature and Chin culture. One youth representative said they “have been aspiring to form such a body for a longtime”.
The CYO started following a recent meeting of 40 youth representatives from, and around, the Chin state capital of Hakha.
