A trade organization based in Chin state capital Hakha donated forty bags of rice and other supplies, to the Chin National Army (CNA) on Jan.3.  This was the first time the organization provided donations.

Elders presented the rice, cooking oil, salt and blankets to CNA representatives at their camp near the Indo-Burma border.

Last December, the Than Tlang based Chin Christian Association donated many blankets. Money and clothing from resettled Chins are also expected to be donated to  the political wing, the Chin National Front (CNF).

CNF Secretary of Military Affairs Committee Colonel Solomon said the community wants to support them because they represent the Chin people. “I thank the elders for their donation.”

One resident said the people are supporting the CNF because “the Chin people want peace in the country”.

The CNF signed a ceasefire with the central government early last year.
