The Chin National Front (CNF) peace committee and other ethnic party leaders from inside Burma met for the first time during the second level union talks with the government at Tawwin Rose Peace Hall in Yangon.  The CNF signed 27 points of a 33 plan brought forth by the armed group with the government. One point included recognizing Chin Day as a national holiday.

During the meeting, CNF met with the Chin National Party (CNP) and Chin Progressive Party (CPP). Afterwards, they met with the National Democratic Party (NDP), All Mon Region Democracy Party (AMRDP) and Phalong-Sapaw

Pu Zin Cung, general secretary for CNF, remarked how important meetings like this are for building unity amongst Chins. He also expressed satisfaction that the Ashu Chin National Party has been formally established.

U Aung Min Hlai, general secretary of the Ashu Chin National Party, said they are fielding candidates in 20 townships for the 2015 election.
