The Burma army began repairing the road in Thandaung Township, Karen State at the beginning of November. But the road isn’t being used for the military to move out their troops following a historic ceasefire with the Karen National Union (KNU), its being used to resupply existing camps.

previously,” said a Karen National Union Brigade 2 officer.

The KNU confirmed with KIC that the Burma Army’s Infantry Battalion 1, 5, and 35 under
Brigade 66 and Light Infantry Battalion 108 have been ordered to repair the road.

The road that is about 60 miles long has already been completed between Taungoo and Maungtaikyi.

Locals confirmed the Burma Army, based in Nyaunglebin and Papun KNU Brigade 3 & 5 controlled territories are also repairing supply roads.
