The government’s defense ministry will focus on developing Chin State according to a regional Burmese army commander during a recent visit to Matupi.
Lieutenant General Myint Soe, Bureau of Special Operation of the Defense Ministry, Major General Soe Lyn, Commander of North Western command, army officials, Pu Hung Ngai, Chief Minister of Chin state government, Colonel Zaw Min Oo, Border and Security Ministry of Chin state all arrived by army aircraft to Chin State’s second largest city.
According to a high school teacher that attended the meeting at Bungtla Hall, Lieutenant General Myint Soe told officials the government will focus on developing the roadways and improving agricultural yield in the state.
Myint Soe also told residents of one of the poorest states in the country they must work hard at helping themselves, according to one person who attended the meeting.
Lieutenant General Myint Soe and the other army officials also visited Teddim, Ton Zang, Falam, Hakha, Kanpetlet and Cindwe village - where a Christian cross was destroyed by local Buddhists in the past.
