Chin Brotherhood Alliance Controls Four Towns, Aims for Entire Junta-Free Chin State

The Chin Brotherhood Alliance has successfully taken control of four towns in Chin State, with the ambitious goal of transforming the entire region into a junta-free zone, according to the spokesperson for the 1st Brigade of the Chinland Defense Force - Matupi (CDF-Matupi).

"We captured more than 100 prisoners of war (PoWs) at the border between Mindat and Matupi townships, and we are holding them in accordance with the rules protecting PoWs. Matupi has now become a junta-free zone, with both the administrative and military parts of the town controlled by the Chin Brotherhood Alliance and joint resistance forces,” the spokesman told Narinjara.

The spokesman further emphasized that the Chin Brotherhood Alliance is determined to continue conducting more military initiatives under the helm of Operation Chin Brotherhood (Operation CB), aiming to free the entire Chin State from junta control.

"In addition to Matupi, which can be classified as a major township, the towns of Kyatwee (Kyindwe), M'Kuiimnu, and Lalengpi are now under the control of the Chin Brotherhood. Offensive operations will continue to take over other towns and townships in Chin State,” he added.

On July 28, the Chin Brotherhood Alliance announced that approximately 120 junta troops, who had fled the fighting in Matupi and hidden in nearby forest areas, were discovered and arrested along with their weapons and ammunition.

The Chin Brotherhood Alliance-led resistance successfully overran the Matupi-based 304th Light Infantry Battalion, the 140th Infantry Battalion, and the Tactical Operations Command on June 29, following a large-scale offensive.

In the operation to capture Matupi, the Chin Brotherhood Alliance received crucial support from valuable allies like the Arakha Army (AA) and the Yaw Army (YA).
