TNLA-PDF Coalition Gains Control over Police and Fire Station in and Hospital in Nawnghkio (Naungcho) township

The Ta'ang (Palaung) National Liberation Army (TNLA) and People's Defense Force (PDF) coalition have captured several important civil service offices following intense battles with Junta troops,in Nawnghkio (Naungcho) township in Shan State,

Starting around 5:00 am on June 25, TNLA and PDF launched attacks on Junta troops stationed at Ongmati intersection and Shwe Nyaungbin village in Nawnghkio. By 1:00 pm, the clashes had spread to the vicinity of the People's Hospital near the town.

The TNLA-PDF coalition has now gained full control of the People's Hospital, fire station, and police station near the entrance of Nawnghkio town.

“In the morning, shootouts erupted near the 115th Battalion. Gradually the clashes started moving towards the town. From around 1:00pm TNLA and PDF advanced to the weather office behind the hospital, as well as to the Junta’s battalion. The fire department, police station, and hospital are now in the hands of TNLA”, a Nawnghkoi resident reported.

During the clashes in Ongmati on the morning of June 25, a vehicle got caught in the crossfire, resulting in a passenger being shot in the neck. Residents attempted to evacuate him, but he succumbed to his injuries near Bantbwe.

The Danu People's Liberation Army (DPLA) has confirmed its participation in the ongoing fighting in Nawnghkio, and media reports indicate that the Mandalay People's Defense Force (MDY-PDF) is also involved.

Since June 25, the TNLA and People's Defense Force (PDF) have been engaged in intense clashes with Junta troops. The fighting has primarily centered around Ongmahkar, Ongmati, Yaemawngtan, and Kyaukkyan villages along Union Road. Locals reported sightings of Junta aircraft scrambling in those areas throughout the day.
