Ethnic Resistance Struggle and the Spring Revolution Now a Unified Movement Says NUG Acting President

The acting president of the National Unity Government Duwa Lashi La, asserted that, the Spring Revolution and the ethnic resistance movement have now converged into a unified movement.

"If we observe the present developments closely, we can observe the Spring Revolution and the diverse struggles for freedom among ethnic groups have united as a single entity. We embrace this convergence wholeheartedly”, he stated in the speech made 13/2024 NUG cabinet meeting held on April 2.

He emphasized the necessity of interconnected and systematic initiatives grounded in this newly formed unity to achieve the positive revolutionary outcomes anticipated for 2025.

"The Spring Revolution gained momentum thanks to democratic struggle, student activism, and the unity of all people and ethnic groups. As we face favourable changes today, I urge everyone to prioritize the public need to further advance the revolution's goals.”, the acting president said.

The acting president Duwa Lashi La added that NUG is collaborating with ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) like the Karen National Union (KNU), Chin National Front (CNF), and Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) in the ongoing Spring Revolution to dismantle the dictatorial regime.

He also mentioned that NUG is partnering with undisclosed EAOs, whose names have not yet been disclosed.

"At present the KIA's resistance, seen as the main revolutionary driving force in the northern region, is making significant progress. We in the NUG firmly aim to work closely with KIA”, the acting president reaffirmed.

He emphasized that the NUG's responsibilities are intertwined with the success of the Spring Revolution, underscoring that the people's lives, properties, and future prospects rely heavily on NUG's actions.
