Public Caution Advised as Resistance Forces Anticipate Intensified Military Operations in Mon State

The local resistance forces have urged the community to stay vigilant and exercise caution, in anticipation of imminent escalation of military operations in southern parts of Mon State.

The resistance forces have declared their resolve to expedite operations in the southern part of Mon State in 2024, with the objective of executing strategic maneuvers to capture towns.

The coalition of revolutionary forces has foreseen a potential rise in resistance strength in the townships of Ye, Thanbyuzayat, Mudon, and Mawlamyine in Mon State in the coming weeks and months.

Naing Naga, spokesperson for the Mon State Revolution Force (MSRF), informed Than Lwin Times that in 2024, the resistance forces plan to conduct collaborative operations that are more coordinated and effective than their previous endeavors.

Naing Naga advises against unnecessary travel around Military Council bases during the upcoming heightened military activities, suggesting that individuals with unavoidable travel stay informed about military news and proactively build bomb shelters.

On January 15th, Ye Belu (Ye Ogre Force) also issued a cautionary warning, urging locals to exercise caution and vigilance during their travels.

Subsequently, on January 16th, Ye Belu took action by opening fire on the Military Council's 591st Light Infantry Battalion, stationed in Ye Township, using artillery.

In anticipation of the escalating operations by the resistance forces, the Military Council is proactively preparing for defense by deploying covert guards, enhancing security measures, and maintaining heightened troop readiness for potential combat at any moment.

Local resistance forces in southern Mon State engaged in approximately 50 clashes with the Military Council in 2023, successfully eliminating around 100 Regime troops, according to reports throughout the year.
