The Arakan Army (AA) a key member of the 1027 offensive launched on October 27th 2023, has declared its determination to capture all the remaining military outposts and bases still under the coup regime’s control in Rakhine State, as well as Paletwa Township in Chin State.
Since January 1st, the AA has escalated its operations in Paletwa, moving on to another phase. Notably the Junta 's hill-based tactical command bases, including No. 289 and Meewa camps, have been specific targets of these intensified attacks. The AA has also confirmed its engagements with the 233rd, 374th, 376th, 308th, 211st, 217th, 220th Infantry Battalions, and the 289th Light Infantry Battalion.
On January 3rd, AA successfully took full control of the Chinletwa military outpost in Paletwa.
The AA said that along with the capture of ammunition and military equipment, several enemy bodies were discovered on the premises.
Simultaneously AA is launching attacks on the well-fortified Military Council base near Tinma village in Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State. AA is also making efforts to seize the Taungshay hill-based tactical command base, known for its weapons abuse against the local population.
On January 2nd, the AA successfully capture the Khamaungwa military outpost in Paletwa. Ongoing endeavors are being made to captured the nearby Junta installations throughout this week, as they have not surrendered and are still actively resisting.
Since late 2023, when AA initiated an attack on the Military Council and commenced operations, it has successfully captured approximately 150 enemy bases and outposts.
