Maungdaw, Arakan State : Burma 's border security force returned Kyat 3.2 million to a businessman after looting Kyat 6.4 million from him while he was returning home from Maungdaw Town after selling his wife's ornaments on May 23, said a relative of the victim.
 
The victim was identified as Md. Yunus (45), son of Mohamed from Ngar Khuya village tract in Maungdaw Township .
 
Md. Yunus, on April 27, went to Maundaw Town accompanied by his wife to sell her ornaments to meet the financial crisis they were in. He was into shrimp business earlier and lost money. So, he sold his wife's ornaments to repay the loan taken from some from businessmen.
 
However, on that day, at about 9 p.m. he was returning home in a jeep after selling the ornaments in Maungdaw market. When he got down at the Ngar Khuya market, he was stopped Nasaka personnel of area No. 5. They checked and found Kyat 6.4 million on him. They asked why he was carrying so much money. He said that the money was for repaying a loan.
 
He was arrested and brought to Burma ¢s border security force, or Nasaka camp and detained there.  But, his wife was released. After four hours he was released after all his money was taken. He was asked him to appear at the camp whenever he was summoned.
 
The victim complained to the higher authorities. But, he did not get back the money at that time.
 
However, on May 23, he was called by the commander of Nasaka area No.5 and returned 3.2 million kyat out of kyat 6.4 million. The rest money was pocketed by Nasaka. He had to provide three mobile phones to the Nasaka, said a friend of the victim.
 
When contacted a relative of the victim said, "The Nasaka seized the money without finding any fault. How long will this go on?"
