Some inmates from Taung Lay Lone Prison in Nyaung Shwe Township, situated in the Taung Gyi District of Shan State, are currently being transferred  to different facilities by prison officials.

A lawyer with knowledge of the matter informed SHAN that a limited number of people are being transferred from March to September. "In March, a prison break transpired at Taung Lay Lone Prison. Prior to this escape, a group of political prisoners had been transferred to Insein Prison. Subsequent to the jailbreak, these individuals have been repositioned to different facilities, such as Insein Prison, Thayarwaddy Prison, and Obo Prison, in limited numbers," a lawyer with knowledge of the situation informed SHAN.

Moreover, the lawyer mentioned that individuals arrested under articles unrelated to political charges, have also been transferred to well-known penal colonies from Taung Lay Lone Prison.

I cannot confirm the identities of those who were transferred alongside him," a family member of political prisoners shared with SHAN.
