In the recent conflict in Muse Township, located in northern Shan State, one driver lost his life, and three local residents, including a monk, sustained injuries.
A representative from the Myint Myat Parami Social Assistance Association in Muse Township reported that a driver tragically lost his life as a result of the clashes between armed groups near Mawtawng-Kawngwet village on the night of August 2.
"Right now, I'm about to travel 105 miles. I need to go and pick up the driver who was shot near Mawtawng-Kawngwet last night. They reached out for assistance, and I'm heading there to help," he mentioned.
The identities of the armed groups responsible for the gunfire remain undisclosed.
Furthermore, on August 2, at approximately 9:00 a.m., an intense conflict erupted between the Military Council and the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) near Tonthkan village in Muse Township. According to accounts from local residents, two community members sustained injuries during the confrontation.
An official from the Myint Myat Parami Social Assistance Association in Muse Township, who went to aid the injured, explained, "They were caught in the midst of the conflict and got hit by gunfire and bomb fragments. Their legs and arms were wounded. Two of them had minor injuries. Initially, when we tried to approach to transport them, there was ongoing shooting, so we had to retreat. Once the situation became more stable, we managed to transport everything possible."
Reportedly, the conflict erupted around 9:00 am on August 2 near Tonthkan village, situated between 105 miles and Muse. As a result, two 14-year-old children who happened to be walking on the road sustained injuries.
Yesterday, the Myint Myat Parami Social Assistance Association transported the two injured children to Muse Hospital. Following an assessment of their condition, the hospital deemed their injuries non-critical and permitted them to return home.
However, on August 3, the patient requested assistance again and was subsequently taken back to Muse Hospital due to bleeding from the injured area, as reported by an official from the Myint Myat Parami Social Assistance Association.
Additionally, the official from the Myint Myat Parami Social Assistance Association mentioned that one monk was also injured as a result of the gunfire.
"The monk who arrived in the monk's vehicle didn't sustain serious injuries, but he was struck by bomb shrapnel. I believe he wasn't from Tonthkan village, although I didn't inquire specifically. Due to the ongoing gunfire and the active conflict, we needed to transport him promptly," he explained.
The wounded monk is identified as being from Hkomone village and was struck by a bullet while returning from the Waso Robe Offering Ceremony in Muse. This information has been provided by the Myittar Pan Khin Charity Youth Group of Muse Township. Currently, the monk is undergoing medical treatment at Pyin Oo Lwin Hospital.
In the northern region of Shan State, intense clashes between the Military Council forces and the PSLF/TNL have persisted since the second week of July, extending up to the present day.
Residents said that people are fleeing due to the fighting, and the locals are being injured as a consequence of the Military Council troops' indiscriminate artillery shell fire, which occurs without any engagement taking place.
