In Ywar Thit Town, Bawlakhe Township, Karenni State, there are around 500 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have left their homes and are fleeing from the fighting once again, reported by the residents.  A resident of Ywar Thit Town highlighted the urgent need for shelters and food for the IDPs, particularly due to the current rainy season.

"They have almost no essentials, such as food, cooking utensils, and shelter. They have to rely on sharing what little they have. Their immediate needs include livelihood necessities and medical supplies. Additionally, the rainy weather poses many threats to their health and well-being, said a Ywar Thit resident.

The individuals currently facing difficulties are the residents who had to escape from Ywar Thit due to the recent clashes that occurred on June 26 and 27. He mentioned that while they were fleeing during the conflict, they were unable to bring any food with them.

According to a representative from the Karenni State Interim Executive Council (IEC), it is estimated that there could be approximately 2,000 newly displaced individuals in the Ywar Thit area, in addition to the residents who had already fled due to the ongoing conflict.

U Banyar, the spokesperson for the humanitarian committee of the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC), has stated that urgent humanitarian aid is being provided to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in need. The spokesperson of KSCC's humanitarian committee

elaborated, "The situation in Ywar Thit presents great problems for the IDPs. The IDP population has surpassed several thousand, with many of them scattered and facing increased hardships. Access to essential resources and services has become more arduous, due to challenging transportation routes. They no longer seek refuge in Thailand, opting instead to remain inside the country, constantly on the move and in hiding. Despite these difficulties, we are diligently fulfilling our obligations by collaborating with established civil society and humanitarian organizations."  

According to the current military situation, there may be more fighting in Ywar Thit town, and it is reported that the locals are trapped inside the monastery of Ywar Thit town. The local residents informed the Kantarawaddy Times that the troops of the Military Council have imposed restrictions, disallowing the Ywar Thit locals from exiting the monastery.

The Military Council have resorted to opening fire on individuals attempting to leave the village, resulting in the tragic deaths of four people. However, the Kantarawaddy Times has been unable to independently verify the reported casualties.

During the conflict that occurred in Ywar Thit town on June 27, the Military Council conducted airstrikes, but there is no official information yet regarding the casualties on either side. Additionally, in the vicinity of Ywar Thit town, on June 25 at approximately 6:00 pm, the Military Council launched airstrikes.
