A Young Philanthropist from Lamine Township Shot Dead at Night

Ko Lin Aung (21 years old), a member of a charity who was returning home from a birthday party by motorcycle on July 31 at around 11:00 p.m., was a victim of an accidental fatal shooting by police. The La Mine Philanthropy Youth Group expressed condolences for Ko Lin Aung, who was a member of their  association.

Ko lived in Lamine Township, Ye Township, and died on the spot as a result of the shooting.

A local resident who did not wish to be named said, "I heard the sound of gunshots, then a policeman called out to me. They said that a person had been shot here. When we went to see, I realized he was my fellow villager. ---we sent him to the hospital," he added.

The Lamine Police Station has not responded to the Mon News Agency questions regarding the incident.

Witnesses indicated that Ko was shot in the back and neck.

The Lamine Charitable Youth Group posted on its social media page the location where Ko Lin Aung's motorcycle, bracelet, and blood stains were evident on the roadside near  the Naung Daw Kyi Pagoda, which  is considered the crime scene.
