Three youths arrested from an IDP camp in Rathidaung

Three youths were arrested by the military council troop from an IDP camp in Rathedaung township of Rakhine State on 16 May.

The arrested persons are identified as Maung Nay Tun Oo (17 years old), Maung Aung Myo Khan (16) and Maung Khaing Myo Lin (17).

They were arrested in the evening hours while returning back to  the Rathedaung camp from Ponna Kyun on a motorcycle.

"They went to Ponna Kyun on a motorbike at around  12 noon. By 4 pm, Maung Aung Myo Khan called his parents and said that they were arrested by the army personnel. Then the phone went out of order,” said a relative of the arrested youths, adding that reasons behind their arrest are still unknown.

All three are taking shelter in Pyilon Chanthar IDP camp for a long time. They hail from different areas  like Maung Nay Tun Oo belonging to Nwa La Kyaw village, Maung Aung Myo Khan from Sedipyin village and Maung Khaing Myo Lin from Kyauktan village.

Rakhine State border & security minister colonel Kyaw Thu Ra did not answer the phone call by Narinjara News for confirmation about the arrest.
