Several houses destroyed by Myanmar junta airstrikes in Sagaing’s Kathar township

Several houses were destroyed by fires following airstrikes by three junta military helicopters in Moetar Gyi village, Kathar township, Sagaing Division on January 12, according to local people.

Local residents have been displaced, after the Myanmar military deployed helicopter gunships.

"Three helicopters came and shot at Moe Tar Gyi village at around 12 noon today. Several houses were destroyed by fires. Villagers have been displaced. The number of casualties is still unknown,” a local resident said on Wednesday.

According to the announcement of the Kathar people defense forces, three junta military helicopters dropped 12 bombs in three places in Moe Tar Gyi village, causing extensive damage. Children are also affected and the exact number of casualties is still unknown.
